AI article summaries on iPhone
ReadShore helps you understand articles saved on your iPhone. Summary keeps the main meaning and important conditions; Analysis adds useful explanation when the source supports it. Start with the summary, then choose whether to go deeper or open the original.
How do I get an article summary?
Save an article through the iPhone share sheet, then open it in ReadShore. If Summary & Analysis is not enabled, use the article’s setup action or open Settings → Summary & Analysis. Sign in with Apple and explicitly enable processing. Saving and reading do not require this permission.
Cloud processing needs an internet connection and readable article text. A saved link alone is not evidence that the full article was obtained. If processing is pending or fails, you can still return to the original source.
What is the difference between Summary and Analysis?
Summary gives you the source’s main ideas and the qualifications that change their meaning. Analysis adds source-supported reasoning, assumptions or limitations that help you understand more. It is useful when that extra context changes your interpretation.
A short, clear source may be more useful as it is. ReadShore can keep that text rather than rewrite it, and can omit Analysis when Summary already conveys the useful meaning. More generated text is not a requirement for a useful result.
Can a summary replace the original article?
Use a summary to decide where to spend your attention. Return to the original for exact wording, quotations, evidence or a consequential decision. AI output can contain mistakes; check an important claim against the source before relying on it.
A website may restrict retrieval, require sign-in, or provide only part of its text. ReadShore does not treat an inaccessible passage as if it had been read. Keeping a source link remains useful even when a summary cannot be produced.
Does a summary translate the whole article?
No. A summary condenses the ideas from the text ReadShore obtained; it is not a full translation of the source. Article titles and source text stay in their original language. Return to the original when exact wording matters.
What happens to an article when I enable AI?
Cloud Summary & Analysis processes article text and related request data through ReadShore’s service providers after you enable it. You can turn processing off in Settings. Existing results remain readable; turning processing off is different from deleting data.
The privacy policy explains providers, retention, deletion and your choices. Tidi is a separate conversation: an explicit Send starts its model request, and the automatic Summary & Analysis setting does not control that action.
